This is the starting point, where the designer meets with the client to understand their needs, preferences, and project scope. They discuss the budget, timeline, and any specific requirements or challenges.

Based on the client's input, the designer begins to develop a design concept. This includes creating mood boards or sketches to communicate the overall vision, style, and aesthetic direction for the project.

Discovery

In this stage, the designer analyzes the available space and develops a functional layout. They determine the placement of furniture, fixtures, and other elements to optimize the flow and functionality of the space. Attention is given to factors like traffic patterns, ergonomics, and accessibility.

The designer creates detailed drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and construction documents, as needed. These drawings communicate the design intent to contractors, architects, and other professionals involved in the implementation phase. Specifications may also be included, listing the specific materials, finishes, and products to be used.

Conceptual Design

Once the design is finalized, the designer works closely with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to oversee the project's execution. They ensure that the design is implemented as planned, manage timelines, address any issues or changes, and coordinate the procurement and installation of materials, furnishings, and fixtures.

After the construction or renovation work is complete, the designer focuses on styling the space. They arrange furniture, layer textiles, add decorative accessories, and create vignettes to enhance the overall aesthetic and bring the design to life.

The designer presents the completed space to the client, giving them a tour and explaining the design choices and features. The client has the opportunity to provide feedback and address any remaining concerns or adjustments.
